Reliability

Length and mode of operation and background environment all impact product reliability and should be considered when choosing a solid-state heat pump supplier.

Redfish Photonics micro-coolers are designed for use in a wide variety of applications such as industrial stack monitors, exhaust, moisture, and medical analyzers to infrared imaging cameras and telecommunication systems.

Recognizing the need for increased performance and higher reliability of thermoelectric coolers, Redfish Photonics uses metrics and processes for continuous improvement to ensure the demands of evolving technologies are met.

Regular tests are performed on micro-coolers from the assembly line by subjecting a relative sample to long-term cycle testing.
The solid-state heat pump samples are subjected to 20,000 on/off cycles where the module is allowed to reach maximum cooling during the on cycle before being shut off, where it is allowed to reach room ambient temperature before recycling.
Under this cycle test the MTTF of the MC series micro-coolers and MCC series micro-coolers will by far exceed 10 years of operation when packaged properly using appropriate mounting (see application notes) and operating precautions.
