Control
Electronics
- External electronics
are responsible for controlling the temperature and protecting the package
from overheating. Thermistor lead wires should be connected externally in a
tight servo loop with the controller/power supply circuitry to control the
input power and maintain the appropriate set point temperature. A current
limit must be set on the heat pump power supply that is less than Imax and
also prevents overheating for the heat pump being used. Note that the point at
which a heat pump overheats depends directly on the thermal resistance to the
atmosphere and the ambient temperature.
